Links

When you click on a link on one website, you are taken to another place on the website or on another site on the Internet, sometimes to a site hosted on a server in a country far, far away. When you think of the zillions of links on the Internet and how they connect one site to another, or one web page to another on the same site, you'll understand why the Internet is called the World Wide Web.

For example, my friend Thor lives in Iceland. Click here to see his web site.

There are several ways to add links on your website using Tripod's SiteBuilder:

1. The easiest way to add just one link is to click on "Add Link" in your toolbar and enter the requested information.

Note: Each link must be of the form http://www.tuxjunction.net

If you add a period after the name of a link, be careful not to enter it as part of the link:

2. You can also enter a link when you are in the "Add Text" mode. Highlight the text you wish to make a link and click the chain link icon on the far right of the toolbar. Then enter the link in the space provided. Check which options you wish to use.

3. To add several links at a time, go to Tripod's website and  Log In. Then click on Tools --> Guest Gear --> Link Gear --> Get this Gear. Enter a brief Title and then a total of five links and a very short description of each.

Each link must be entered like this:

Tuxedo Junction
The Palomar
