Andy Russell (Andres Rabajos)

Born in Los Angeles in 1920 of Mexican-Spanish parents, Andy Russell was "persuaded" to Americanize his name by Capitol Records. His two biggest hits were Amor and Besame Mucho, both recorded in 1944. His version of Besame Mucho became the public's favorite, even surpassing the million-seller by Jimmy Dorsey and His Orchestra with vocals by Bob Eberle and Kitty Kallen.
