Basic HTML Code for Embedding Sound

Using the "Add HTML" option under the Multimedia heading, place the code below in the Body section of your web page. Customize the "src" link to conform to your site design.

<!-- Insert sound code  -->

<EMBED src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/songs/toolatebaby.mp3" nosave="true" autostart="true" loop="false" hidden="false" width="200" height="55" target="_blank"></EMBED>

<!-- End sound code -->

Hint: Place all of your sound and song files in the same folder, which is called "songs" in this example. You also could name the folder "mid", "mp3", "wav", "media", or whatever your prefer. Tripod's Site Builder automatically places sound files in a folder called "sitebuilderfiles".

For example, we have used this code to embed a song in this web page. The song is Disc Jockey Jump by Gene Krupa and his Orchestra, written and arranged by 19-year-old baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan.

Just click the "Play" button to hear Disc Jockey Jump.

The sound files below have been inserted by using Tripod's Site Add-Ons feature:

Site Add-Ons --> Multimedia --> Add sound to your site

You can search the web for MIDI or MP3 files, download and save them to your computer, then upload them to your Tripod site. Or, you can record them from a CD or LP to your computer, then upload them.

To hear any of these sound files, just click on the link.
